Intranet Benchmarking and Consultancy
- Working as part of the Intranet Benchmarking Forum team - I have recently reviewed and benchmarked intranets and portals at Nokia, BT, GE Insurance Solutions, GSK, HSBC, Maersk, Rolls Royce, Shell, Swiss Re & Unilever
- I reviewed the internal new provision through various intranet sites at Allen & Overy
- I am also the Director of Special Interest Groups withih IBF to exchange good practce between intranet managers of FTSE 100 and global organsations
- Occasional guest lecturer at Warwick University, as part of the MBA Information Systems module
- I also recently reviewed intranet content management and governance at Experian providing focussed recommendations on the best way forward in both areas

Intranet Management and Development
- Helped deliver targeted content, through portal technology, to different roles across 1400 retail stores
- Implemented different views of intranet content for different business audiences
- Delivered a single integrated intranet across the Boots Group, consolidating 7 different intranets, working with stakeholders across the business to establish content and usability priorities
- Implemented a new content management system and led a virtual team of 300+ content owners and authors to redevelop sites
- Developed and launched the first intranet at Boots The Chemists Head Office and the framework for an intranet for all stores
Change Management
- Led a sustainability work-stream to develop business-as-usual management of new SAP systems
- Lead role in developing the governance model and business-as-usual responsibilities for a new portal for 1400 retail stores
- Managed strategic communications between key senior stakeholders, an external project team and Boots stores during new store system development and implementation
Implementation of new technology into business
- Led the implementation of UDEX (an external service to collect product information from suppliers) into a large UK retail trading team
- Implemented a new content management system across 7 different businesses
- Usability and content management consultant within an IBM team to deliver new portal technology to 1400+ Boots stores.
Information Services management
- Directed and developed a team of information professionals to deliver information research and knowledge management initiatives across the Boots group
- Worked collaboratively with information providers (eg Factiva, NewsEdge, Dialog etc) to initiate the development of new information products to fit changing business strategy
Procurement Management
- Managed £1m+ budget for information procurement, dealing with a wide range of information provision in the retail and pharmaceutical industries (eg Factiva, Thomson, Lexis Nexis, IMS)
- Led a large established purchasing team, responsible for all Boots 'goods not for resale', through a period of considerable change whilst delivering new business working processes.
Industry advisory boards
- 3 years on the International Factiva Advisory Board and a continuing alumni member of the renamed Customer Advisory Board
- Developed best practice implementation for the European IMS advisory committee regarding a new desktop service.
